The Federation of Saudi Chambers has pinpointed 100 promising avenues for trade and investment across international markets, according to Asharq Al-Awsat. These prospects were derived from 23 analytical reports completed during the first quarter of the year. The documents assessed foreign economic landscapes and potential areas for enhanced cooperation with the Kingdom. The federation intends to use these insights to assist its 103 bilateral business councils in setting strategic priorities and organizing economic delegations.
The federation’s councils have already secured 14.25 billion riyals in realized investments across seven foreign markets. Additionally, they facilitated 109 meetings and delegations to connect enterprises with potential partners. New cooperation frameworks are currently being developed in 80 markets. The organization aims to link Saudi firms with overseas destinations while resolving barriers to their international expansion.
Recent bilateral efforts have yielded specific commercial outcomes. In Cambodia, the Shamsan group opened a new branch following an August 2026 delegation visit. This move builds upon a prior deal to purchase two agarwood forests spanning 150 million square meters for over $1 billion. In Sweden, the Saudi-Swedish council facilitated the market entry of healthcare provider Medicover. The firm launched an initial project worth 8 million euros, with plans to raise that figure to 50 million euros by 2028.
Portugal and Italy also saw significant progress. A Saudi delegation visited Portugal in late 2026, resulting in two memorandums with local investment bodies and four private-sector agreements. The count of Portuguese firms active in the Kingdom rose from roughly 24 to 60. In Italy, a CDP Group delegation visited Riyadh in September. The two sides signed a memorandum to create a structured framework for business networking and coordinated efforts with the Italian export credit agency SIMEST to support Italian firms entering the Saudi market.
Other regional engagements included a Saudi-Algerian delegation attending the Algiers International Fair, where six potential opportunities were identified for further review. The Saudi-Chinese council signed a strategic partnership to build a compressed natural gas facility in Sudair Industrial City. Meanwhile, the Saudi-Indian council established direct communication lines with the Indian Embassy to align on investment priorities and visa facilitation for business travelers.
