Myntra, the fashion e-commerce arm of Flipkart, moved into the red for the financial year concluded in March 2026. MediaNama reported that the company incurred a net loss of Rs 579.4 crore, reversing the Rs 548.5 crore profit earned in the prior year. These figures were derived from filings submitted to the Registrar of Companies. The shift to a loss occurred even as the platform’s overall expenditure increased slightly compared to the previous fiscal period.
Operating income declined by 14% to reach Rs 5,242.5 crore, down from Rs 6,063.8 crore in the previous year. MediaNama attributed this drop primarily to a severe contraction in earnings from logistics and shipping services. This segment generated Rs 1,119.2 crore, representing a 53% reduction from the Rs 2,390.5 crore recorded earlier. While marketplace services remained the largest revenue contributor at Rs 2,657.3 crore, advertising income expanded by 35% to Rs 1,236.4 crore. Including other income such as supplier royalties, total revenue stood at Rs 5,315.8 crore, a 13% decrease year-on-year.
The platform also adjusted its investment portfolio during this period. MediaNama noted that Myntra sold its stake in the direct-to-consumer brand WROGN to an Aditya Birla entity for Rs 6.56 crore. The board approved this divestment in January 2026. Concurrently, Myntra secured a 51% controlling interest in XS Brands Consultancy Private Limited. These moves align with broader structural changes at Flipkart, which relocated its primary domicile from Singapore to India in March 2026 to consolidate its various subsidiaries under a single Indian entity.
Expenditure patterns revealed mixed trends across different cost categories. MediaNama detailed that advertising and promotional costs, the largest expense line, rose by 11% to Rs 2,326.5 crore. Conversely, logistics-related charges fell by 17% to Rs 1,666.6 crore. Payment gateway fees increased by 24% to Rs 174.4 crore, while employee benefits totaled Rs 776.9 crore, including Rs 235.4 crore in equity-settled share option costs. The broader Flipkart Group, which includes Myntra, eKart, super.money, and Cleartrip, posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 8,468 crore on operating revenue of Rs 1.45 lakh crore for the same fiscal year.
