Tanzanian Ambassador Mobhare Matinyi represented his nation as a featured delegate at the Bati-Est Expo in Constantine, according to Daily News. The ninth iteration of this construction-focused trade fair commenced on October 14, 2026. The event provided a venue for Tanzania to showcase its infrastructure goals and attract Algerian commercial partners. Matinyi addressed attendees to outline the economic benefits of collaborating with Tanzanian entities.

In remarks to the Algeria Press Service, the ambassador noted that construction accounts for roughly 13 percent of Tanzania's gross domestic product. He added that this sector expands by approximately 10 percent annually. Daily News reported that President Samia Suluhu Hassan prioritizes this field to diversify the national economy. The country’s geographic position, linking eastern, central, and southern Africa, further strengthens its appeal as a regional hub for international businesses.

The diplomatic team held talks with various firms involved in the building supply chain. These included specialists in steel frameworks, residential developments, and manufacturing of doors, paints, and fencing. Specific companies such as ERCM Salhi and Mirage Landmark participated in these discussions. The goal was to explore joint ventures, material exports, and involvement in major Tanzanian projects like the standard gauge railway and port upgrades. Dodoma is also set to receive a new international airport, adding to the existing facilities in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar.

Beyond infrastructure, Matinyi attended the Agritech Expo in Annaba on October 13. This agricultural technology fair featured 117 exhibitors from multiple nations. He met with firms interested in Tanzanian agricultural inputs and livestock trade. Companies like New Fertilizers and Agrosafia, which produce fertilizers, expressed interest. Other participants included Biotec-in for animal nutrition and Giplait for dairy products. Some firms also presented water purification technologies and cashew processing methods.

The Bati-Est Expo hosted 167 exhibitors, primarily from Algeria, alongside delegates from Turkey, Germany, the UK, Tunisia, and Egypt. Daily News indicated that while these meetings opened dialogue channels, finalizing deals requires further due diligence. Tanzania aims to convert this initial interest into lasting partnerships by providing clear market data and assessing specific project requirements.
