Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, known professionally as Broda Shaggi, has recounted the details of a stray-bullet injury that interrupted his career for several months. In a video posted on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, the 33-year-old confirmed that the incident occurred on March 9, 2026, while he was working on a comedy skit near Sango-Ota in Ogun State. According to Premium Times, the comedian had previously disappeared from social media, leaving fans anxious about his condition until he recently spoke publicly.

Shaggi described the moment of impact as a loud bang while his team was leaving a brand activation. He stated that he touched his hip and saw blood, realizing he had been hit by a stray bullet. He recalled being unconscious until arriving at a hospital, where medical staff cut off his clothing to locate the wound. Punch reported that the comedian feared his career might end because dancing and physical performance are central to his work. He noted that he had maintained a demanding schedule since 2018, often working continuously without rest.

The comedian explained that his initial surgery in Nigeria did not fully restore movement to his injured leg. Consequently, he traveled to Dubai for further treatment. According to Premium Times, a doctor named Anil examined him and determined that the surgical markers were not yet regulated but that the procedure could proceed. Shaggi said he could stand with assistance two days after the Dubai operation and use crutches by the third day.

Currently, Shaggi reports that he can stand alone without crutches but still uses them for support. He viewed his recovery as a renewed opportunity and promised new projects for his audience. Both Punch and Premium Times noted that he started a YouTube series during his hospitalization to stay occupied. The comedian expressed gratitude for surviving the incident, emphasizing that the bullet had struck his hip rather than a more vital organ.
