Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, handed over 52 vehicles to Ondo and Gombe states to support grassroots voter outreach for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election. According to Punch, the 26 vehicles allocated to each state were presented on Tuesday in Akure and Gombe, the two state capitals, during the launch of local government coordinators for the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. Premium Times noted that the vehicles are intended to facilitate door-to-door campaigns across communities, local government areas, and religious institutions in both states.
Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, represented Tompolo at the events and urged the new coordinators to convert registered voters into actual votes for the president. Both Punch and Premium Times reported that Pondi highlighted the administration’s performance, pointing to the end of fuel queues and the ASUU strike as key arguments for the 2027 election. He described the president as the son of the South West and called on voters to back the All Progressives Congress across all elective positions.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State thanked Tompolo for the vehicles, stating they would improve the mobility of campaign coordinators and ensure they reach every part of the state. Premium Times reported that Aiyedatiwa affirmed Ondo’s commitment to the president’s re-election and guaranteed support and security for all APC candidates. In Gombe, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence in the APC’s electoral prospects and highlighted the state’s agricultural development programme, which he said was supported by a N130 billion grant approved by Tinubu.
Sunday Asuku, National Coordinator of the PBAT movement, called on residents of both states to support the president’s second-term ambition. He pointed to the creation of regional development commissions and the return of financial autonomy to local governments as signs of the administration’s focus on inclusive governance. Asuku urged voters to resist opposition appeals, arguing that the current government was making tough choices for a better future. This outreach effort occurs as political groups strengthen their structures at the ward and local government levels in preparation for the 2027 polls.
